We are Lee and Elaine (husband and wife team), experienced property investors and developers based in SE London. We started investing in property around 13 years ago (2008). Early on, we were predominantly investing in our spare time whilst we both were pursuing busy and successful careers. Over the years we had built a wealth of experience investing in property both inside and outside London across a wide range of investment strategies.

Prior to moving into property investment, Lee’s career was in Finance and Technology advising Hedge Funds, Investment Banks, and Sovereign Wealth Funds. It was a rewarding but very demanding role that left him little time to think about investing for the future. Elaine was previously working as a professional artist and graphic designer. Whilst we both had well-paid jobs, we still found ourselves struggling with living our dream lifestyles. We were time-poor and found ourselves trapped in the corporate world exchanging our time for money.

This became worse when we had our son William. Lee had to travel extensively for business all over the world so he spent a lot of time away from home. After missing a few of William’s key milestones shortly after he was born it really made us rethink what we wanted out of life.

In 2018 we founded ELM Property where we started to take a more professional approach to property investment with the view to create our own future away from the golden shackles of corporate life. We experimented with different business models doing everything from simple Buy to Lets to Back to Brick Refurbishments, off-plan development, Flips, Period Restorations, Corporate Leases, Serviced Accommodation and Holiday Lets, converted properties into HMO’s (Houses of Multiple Occupation), and Taken on Empty homes for Local Housing Authorities. We built a wealth of knowledge understanding that there are several ways to invest in property beyond the vanilla buy to let that can lead to greater returns.

In 2020, we took a leap and left our careers to focus and grow our business in design-led co-living spaces in SE London. With a number of projects under our belt we are now excited for our next phase of growth where we are looking to invite a select number of individuals to join us on our journey.

We like to work with like-minded investors and are aiming to deliver a personalised, hands-free, end-to-end property investment services to those who struggle with time and experience in property developments.
